James Mattioli loved math, sports and cuddling on the couch with his mom at the end of the day. The energetic, six-year-old boy, one of the 20 children killed in the elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn., will be laid to rest Tuesday.
James Radley Mattioli, the beloved prince of parents Mark and Cindy, was a loving friend to all, his family said.
The boy, fondly called J for short, was remembered singing at the top of his lungs and once asked his family "How old do I have to be to sing on a stage?"
James loved football and basketball and would swim like a fish in both of his grandparents' pools and ride his bike, proudly without training wheels, his family said.
The early-riser of the family, James liked to end the day cuddling with his mother on the couch after grabbing his pillow and brown fleece blanket .

Inseparable from his father, James even looked like his dad, described as his mini look-a-like.
James, who excelled at math and numbers, was also working very hard to advance his reading in 1st Grade, his family said. Sister Anna was helping to push him to read bigger words.
His funeral will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown and he will be buried at St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Darien, Conn.
